Bar chart of October 2026 fintech deals: LSEG's $3.535 billion Octus deal exceeds the $2.24 billion disclosed across all tracked funding rounds

In the fintech deals Fintechbits tracked in October 2026, the single largest cheque paid for an acquisition, not a funding round. This first edition of the Fintech Deals Tracker covers deals tracked by Fintechbits Intelligence and announced between 1 and 28 October 2026. That is 9 funding rounds and 8 acquisitions, each one reported in a Fintechbits article and checked by hand against that article. These are the fintech deals Fintechbits covered, not every deal in the market.

Six fintech deals that Fintechbits covered in October but that were announced before October are left out. Tabby’s $233 million Series F was announced on 14 September and Elio Mortgage emerged from stealth with its pre-seed on 29 September. Stripe’s purchase of Parafin was agreed on 30 September, Valley National Bancorp’s deal for Bluevine on 28 September, Basware’s Trustpair deal in August and Mollie’s GoCardless deal in December 2025.

What the October fintech deals data means

Take Ramp out and October’s tracked funding looks modest. The other seven disclosed rounds raised $394 million between them, and five of the eight disclosed amounts were under $100 million. The median disclosed round was $55 million. In the tracker, one company, Ramp, took 82% of the disclosed money, and the other seven raised between $12 million and $150 million.

The biggest fintech deal Fintechbits tracked was an acquisition, and the second acquisition was nearly as big as Ramp’s round. LSEG is paying $3.535 billion in cash for Octus, a credit intelligence and data provider, and Tradeweb is paying $1.75 billion for Trumid, an electronic bond trading marketplace. Both buyers are listed companies, and both bought credit market businesses within four days, 19 to 22 October. Intuit, also listed, agreed to buy Sequence, which makes revenue management and billing software. Fintechbits reads that as incumbents deciding a purchase is quicker than a build, at least in credit.

The licence deals matter as much as the big prices. Payward, the parent of Kraken, agreed to buy Saldo Bank, a lender licensed by the European Central Bank. Cross River Bank went the other way and agreed to buy Accrue, a payments and rewards wallet. So a crypto group bought its way into a regulated bank while a bank bought a fintech product, and both deals were announced within a week of each other.

How much did tracked fintech rounds raise in October 2026?

Rounds tracked by Fintechbits Intelligence and announced between 1 and 28 October 2026 disclosed $2.24 billion across 8 of 9 rounds. OKX did not disclose how much Circle, Ripple, QRT and SC Ventures invested, only that the extension kept its $25 billion pre-money valuation. Valon’s $150 million Series D was the largest round a company announced itself, at a $2.3 billion valuation.

Which tracked fintech deals in October were acquisitions?

Eight of the 17 fintech deals in the tracker were acquisitions: LSEG and Octus, Tradeweb and Trumid, Intuit and Sequence, Payward and Saldo Bank, Cross River and Accrue, AvaTrade and most of FXCM, Linguard Labs and El Salvador’s Chivo wallet, and Monarch and MBI, formerly HMBradley. Six are agreed but not closed. Linguard’s majority stake in Chivo is done, and Finextra reported Monarch’s deal as completed.

Why is Ramp’s round labelled as reported?

Ramp has not announced it. Bloomberg reported on 9 October 2026, citing people familiar with the matter, that Ramp raised about $1.85 billion at roughly a $60 billion valuation, led by Dragoneer and Thrive Capital. The tracker includes it as the largest round in Fintechbits coverage, and flags it because one unconfirmed figure is 82% of the total.

Were any of October’s tracked fintech deals debt?

Only one tracked round named debt. ScribeUp’s $13 million Series A splits into $10 million of equity and a $3 million venture debt facility. The other releases do not name the instrument, so the tracker calls them venture rounds, not confirmed equity.

What to Watch in the November Fintech Deals Tracker

Both of October’s priced acquisitions still need regulatory approval: LSEG expects to close Octus in the first half of 2027, and Tradeweb targets the same window for Trumid. The November edition will also show whether Ramp confirms its reported round, which would turn the largest figure in this tracker from reported to announced.

Methodology

The tracker covers fintech deals, meaning funding rounds and acquisitions, reported in Fintechbits articles published between 1 and 28 October 2026 and drawn from Fintechbits Intelligence article records, as of 28 October 2026. A deal counts for October if the company announced it, or a named outlet first reported it, between 1 and 28 October. Each announcement date, amount and status was checked by hand against the Fintechbits article that reported it. Totals add disclosed US dollar amounts only, including ScribeUp’s $3 million of venture debt. Tradeweb’s price is the $1.75 billion paid for the business, not the roughly $220 million of estimated tax assets on top. Deals announced earlier and covered in October are excluded, and duplicate articles count once. These counts follow what Fintechbits covered, so they are not market totals and support no month-on-month trend.
