This is the first monthly Fintechbits fintech jobs report, built from Finjobsly’s live data, covering 4,278 active roles at 36 tracked employers as of 31 October 2026. It counts the new fintech jobs those employers posted in October and what those jobs asked for.

The headline total needs one warning up front. Finjobsly’s tracker grew during October, and that growth is coverage, not hiring. Ramp, Mercury and Nubank joined on 19 October, and 213 of Checkout.com’s 216 records were first seen from 19 October. Fintechbits leaves those four employers out of the new-role figures. It also leaves out Wise, including its 40 live October roles, because 207 of its 247 October records are held in pending status. The daily live count also stepped up on 13 October with no matching rise in new records (56 that day), so Fintechbits does not compare the month’s opening and closing totals. That leaves 31 employers and 1,462 new roles.

What it means

Stripe skews this panel’s fintech jobs total. It posted 250 new roles in October, against 174 at Toast and 115 at Affirm. That one employer supplied 17.1% of the panel’s new ads in October, above the 15% level at which Fintechbits flags concentration. So any skill or seniority split of this panel partly describes Stripe’s hiring.

This is where the skills result gets interesting. With Stripe in, payments is the most tagged skill on October’s new roles, at 39.9%. Take Stripe out and compliance moves ahead: 403 of the remaining 1,212 roles (33.3%) carry a compliance tag, against 342 (28.2%) for payments. Compliance demand is also spread out: its largest single source was Adyen, with 43 roles, about one in ten of the total. Payments outside Stripe leans on Adyen for 29.2% of its mentions.

The Fintechbits read is that compliance is a baseline skill across these employers in October, not a niche that one large employer inflates. It fits what fintech leaders told Fintechbits in Compliance From Day One, where they argued that founders who leave compliance late risk fines and lost bank partners. One month cannot show a rise, though. The first like-for-like month-on-month comparison is due in the November report, published in December.

How many new fintech jobs were posted in October 2026?

Finjobsly recorded 1,462 new roles first seen between 1 and 31 October 2026 at 31 comparable employers. It includes roles that have since closed.

Which fintech companies posted the most new roles?

Among the employers Finjobsly tracks, Stripe posted the most new fintech jobs in October, with 250. Toast followed with 174, Affirm with 115 and Adyen with 101. Between them those four posted 640 of the 1,462 roles, or 43.8%. At the other end, Fireblocks posted one new role; Fintechbits covered its hiring slowdown and layoffs on 28 October. Finjobsly keeps a live list of fintech companies hiring.

Which skills did tracked fintech jobs ask for most in October?

Payments was tagged on 583 of October’s 1,462 new roles (39.9%), but 241 of those came from Stripe. Across the other 30 employers, compliance led at 33.3%, payments followed at 28.2% and Go came third at 19.3%. REST and Salesforce also rank high, but more than half of each comes from one employer, Affirm and Toast respectively, so Fintechbits treats them as house tagging rather than demand.

Are October’s new roles remote, hybrid or office based?

Most of those that state one are remote. Of 1,086 such roles, 694 (63.9%) were remote, 320 (29.5%) hybrid and 72 (6.6%) onsite.

How many October fintech jobs were junior or listed pay?

Few of the panel’s new fintech jobs were junior. Of 1,456 new roles with a seniority tag, 662 (45.5%) were senior and 119 (8.2%) junior, with 31 internships (2.1%). A third of the new ads listed pay: 485 of 1,462 (33.2%).

Methodology

Panel: Finjobsly’s live data, covering 4,278 active roles at 36 tracked employers in the daily snapshot of 31 October 2026. New fintech jobs are job records whose first discovery date falls between 1 and 31 October 2026 (UTC), at 31 employers, excluding records in pending status. Excluded employers: Ramp, Mercury and Nubank (added to the tracker on 19 October), Checkout.com (213 of 216 records first seen from 19 October) and Wise (207 of 247 October records in pending status). Six possible duplicate records were kept. The 31 October snapshot ran at 05:30 UTC that day, and it and the city snapshots cover all 36 employers. Skill shares use Finjobsly’s skill tags; one role can carry several. Work style and seniority shares exclude untagged roles and state their base. Week-on-week figures come from Finjobsly’s daily market snapshots of 24 and 31 October. No salary figures are reported. See the Finjobsly methodology.

FAQ

What is the Fintechbits fintech jobs report?

It is a monthly count of the new fintech jobs posted by the employers Finjobsly tracks, published on the first Tuesday of each month. It covers one panel of fintech employers, not the whole market.

Did fintech hiring grow in October 2026?

Not from October’s data alone. The tracker added employers during October, so the month’s opening and closing totals are not comparable. Week on week, live fintech jobs on the panel were flat, with 4,278 live roles on 31 October against 4,255 on 24 October.

Why is Wise left out when the Hiring Pulse included it?

207 of Wise’s 247 October records are held in pending status, so Fintechbits leaves the employer out rather than guess which are open roles. The weekly Hiring Pulse covered the week to 25 October and included Wise.

Which city had the most live fintech jobs at the end of October?

New York and San Francisco were level, with 820 and 818 live roles across all 36 tracked employers on 31 October 2026, both slightly down on the week. London was third with 366.
