Panacea Financial, the Little Rock-based financial platform for doctors, dentists and veterinarians, expanded into payments with Panacea PlexPay on 2 November 2026, adding merchant processing, patient financing and automated payment posting to its banking and lending business, according to the company. Panacea says its platform supported about $7 billion in annualized transaction volume as of 30 September 2026, more than double a year earlier.
What Panacea PlexPay Adds
PlexPay accepts credit and debit cards, ACH and digital payments through physical and virtual terminals and through payment links sent by text or email. It handles stored payment methods, recurring payments and balances owed after insurance. Its PlexPay Sync technology posts payments into more than 120 electronic medical record and practice management systems, so staff do not key them in by hand. Panacea PlexPay is live with practices nationwide.
Practices can add Panacea’s banking, lending and other financial products as their needs grow, and the platform gives real-time transaction visibility and centralised reporting across multiple locations. For multi-site practices, that reporting may matter as much as the card rate.
With Panacea PlexPay, patients can pay at once or apply for financing in the same flow, and Panacea says PlexPay evaluates several financing options through one application for patients across a broad range of credit profiles.
Brendon Kensel, who previously founded a dental support organisation and a national patient finance platform, leads PlexPay. Chief executive Tyler Stafford said the goal is “one trusted financial partner instead of a collection of disconnected services.”
Who Panacea Serves
Panacea was founded by doctors and serves physicians, dentists and veterinarians from training through practice ownership. It says it works with thousands of doctors and practices in all 50 states that together care for more than 3 million patients a year.

Why Panacea PlexPay Is a Lending Play
The model is vertical embedded finance: own the bank account, then add the payments that feed it. Card processing gives Panacea a daily view of each practice’s cash flow, which is the best data a lender can have when the practice later asks for a loan. Fintechbits has covered what sponsor banks expect in due diligence and how embedded finance holds up after launch.
The part that needs the closest look is patient financing. Offering credit to patients “across a broad range of credit profiles” at the point of care is where complaints about medical credit have tended to arise, and the release names no lender, rates or fee structure.
