Arrowpoint Investment Partners, the Singapore multi-strategy hedge fund founded in 2024 by Jonathan Xiong, a former co-chief executive of Millennium’s Asia business, said on 3 November 2026 that it is using Arcesium’s Opterra data and operations platform and managed services to run its $2 billion platform and 24 portfolio managers, according to the companies’ announcement. Arrowpoint began trading in July 2024 with over $1 billion in assets and more than 15 portfolio managers, Hedgeweek reported at the time, so the $2 billion and 24 portfolio managers in the Arcesium release mean assets have roughly doubled in about 28 months, Fintechbits found. The Arrowpoint Arcesium release gives no contract terms.
What the Arrowpoint Arcesium deal covers
Opterra is Arcesium’s front-to-back investment lifecycle platform for hedge funds, and Arcesium’s managed services run parts of the back office on Arrowpoint’s behalf. The aim, Arrowpoint says, is to onboard new portfolio managers quickly as the platform adds strategies and asset classes.
Woon Young Jeong, chief operating officer of Arrowpoint, said Arcesium’s experience with large multi-strategy firms and the global coverage of its managed services “made it the right partner.” Chris Barrow, head of revenue for EMEA and APAC at Arcesium, called Arrowpoint “one of the most sophisticated and high-profile launches we’ve seen in Asia” and said Arcesium opened a Hong Kong office earlier in 2026.

Why multi-strategy funds rent infrastructure
Multi-strategy funds live on adding and dropping portfolio managers. Each new team brings positions, data feeds and risk limits that must plug into the central book on day one. The largest multi-strategy firms built much of that machinery in-house. A two-year-old firm cannot, and Arcesium was itself spun out of a platform built at D. E. Shaw for exactly this job.
Arcesium says it services more than $6.7 trillion in gross AUM and over $1.2 trillion in sell-side capital balances, and has more than 2,600 staff. It launched as a joint venture with Blackstone Multi-Asset Investing, and J.P. Morgan later made a strategic investment.
The Asia expansion angle
For Arcesium, Arrowpoint is a reference client in a region where it opened a Hong Kong office earlier in 2026. Arrowpoint itself shows the pattern: a senior executive leaving one of the big platforms to start a fund that needs a full back office from day one. Capital markets technology vendors are expanding in other ways too, as Numerix showed with its Suite acquisition.
The Arrowpoint Arcesium contract also has to cover a footprint outside Singapore. Arrowpoint has a presence in Hong Kong and Dubai and runs portfolio managers across Asia and the Middle East, so its operating platform must handle several time zones, regulators and trading venues at once. Arcesium’s managed services, which Jeong singled out for their global coverage, address that part: people who run reconciliations and operations across regions, not software alone.
Why the Arrowpoint Arcesium choice makes sense, with one caveat
Buying rather than building is the obvious call for a fund growing this fast: doubling assets in about 28 months while adding portfolio managers would strain any in-house team. The caveat is dependence. When the operating platform belongs to a vendor, switching later is slow and expensive, and the multi-strategy model depends on operations never being the bottleneck. Regulatory reporting is the other pressure point for fast-growing managers, a theme in tools such as Greenboard’s compliance agents.

What to watch next
The next marker after the Arrowpoint Arcesium deal is Arrowpoint’s assets and portfolio manager count over 2027: continued growth would show the outsourced operations model scaling. For Arcesium, more named Asian launches after its Hong Kong office opening would show whether Arrowpoint was a one-off win or the start of a regional book.
