Room Zero, the London analytics software company for asset managers, said on 3 November 2026 that Aviva Investors had gone live on its platform, giving the £273 billion asset manager one governed view of assets under management, assets under administration, flows and revenue, and producing half-year reporting figures seven business days faster, according to Room Zero’s announcement. Aviva Investors is not Room Zero’s first big UK asset manager: Jupiter Asset Management signed a five-year deal in October 2023, when co-founder Richard Warrington said Room Zero had “consolidated over 30 databases into one”, Fintechbits found in Room Zero’s earlier announcement. The Room Zero Aviva Investors project was delivered on time and on budget, the release says.

What the Room Zero Aviva Investors system does

Asset managers usually keep two sets of numbers. Distribution teams track clients, mandates and flows; finance teams track revenue, fees and group reporting. They rarely match without manual reconciliation. Room Zero combines a client book of record and client intelligence with financial reporting and revenue analysis, so both sides work from the same figures.

At Aviva Investors the platform covers multi-entity structures, public and private assets, cross-holdings and group reporting, including committed and invested capital for private assets. It also feeds reporting up to Aviva plc. The firm has retired legacy systems and their costs as a result.

Iain Pearce, chief financial officer of Aviva Investors, said a clear view of AUM, flow and revenue matters “as we continue to expand our use of AI technology to streamline processes.” Mark Simpson, co-founder of Room Zero, said serving distribution, finance and senior management “through one platform” was the significant part.

Seven days is the number that matters

Most go-live releases have no numbers. The Room Zero Aviva Investors release has two: on time and on budget, and half-year figures seven business days faster. For a listed parent’s asset management arm, a week off the half-year close is real. It means management sees AUM, flows and revenue sooner, and investor reporting has more time for checking.

Aviva Investors operates in nine countries across Asia Pacific, Europe, North America and the UK. Aviva has been active in wealth and investment technology elsewhere too: it was among the clients that joined FNZ’s $650 million raise in November 2025, as Fintechbits reported.

A specialist vendor with a narrow lane

Room Zero is small next to the data giants selling to asset managers. Morningstar, for example, rebuilt its Direct research platform around AI agents in October, Fintechbits reported. Room Zero competes on a narrower problem: making AUM, flows and revenue reconcile across a complicated group. Its earlier clients, Jupiter and now Aviva Investors, are exactly the multi-entity UK managers where that problem is worst.

Why Room Zero Aviva Investors is about data before AI

Pearce’s quote mentions AI, but the substance is older and duller: one trusted set of numbers. AI tools on top of asset manager data are only as good as the reconciliation underneath, and Room Zero sells the reconciliation. That is a defensible niche, and two big UK references help it. The risk is concentration: a company whose announced clients are mostly UK-based needs to win elsewhere, or larger platforms will absorb the feature.

What to watch next

The next signal after the Room Zero Aviva Investors project is whether Room Zero signs a manager outside the UK or a much larger global firm. A published case study showing the year-end close at Aviva Investors also running faster would confirm the seven-day gain was more than a one-off.
