MultiBank Exchange, part of Dubai-based derivatives group MultiBank Group, announced on 2 November 2026 an interbank trading platform offering double exotic currency pairs with settlement in fiat currencies or digital assets, according to the group. It says the platform connects more than 30 tier-one banks and liquidity providers and handles daily volumes of up to US$21 billion.
What MultiBank Exchange Is Claiming
The group says its matching engine runs at 400 nanoseconds, the fastest in interbank trading history, and that it is the first interbank platform to offer credit and settlement services to all counterparties. It also claims to be the first interbank platform in emerging markets to support settlement in crypto digital assets, with settlement handled through the group’s regulated subsidiaries in Australia, Singapore and the UAE.
Double exotic pairs are trades between two less-liquid currencies without routing through the US dollar, where pricing is thin and settlement is slow, so a venue that improves either has a real market. MultiBank Exchange is aimed at banks in the GCC, BRICS and other emerging markets, as well as hedge funds, family offices and derivatives brokers, and claims access to more than 250 currencies.
The launch came with a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Kazakhstan on interbank settlement in digital currencies, and a new board for MultiBank Exchange Holding chaired by founder Naser Taher, with Mohammed Al Hakim as vice chairman.
Who Is Behind It
MultiBank Group was established in California in 2005 and says it serves more than 2 million clients in 100 countries, with daily trading volume above $35 billion across its brokerage platforms. “MultiBank Exchange represents a significant expansion of the Group’s role in institutional financial markets,” Taher said.

Why MultiBank Exchange Needs Independent Proof
The release is long on superlatives and short on evidence. It names none of the 30-plus banks, gives no independent latency test for the 400-nanosecond figure, and does not say which subsidiary or licence covers digital asset settlement. “Up to US$21 billion” a day is a ceiling, not an average. Until named counterparties confirm they trade on MultiBank Exchange, the volume claim is the company’s word.
The idea is still worth watching. Stablecoin settlement for FX is a theme Fintechbits has followed in its stablecoin explainer and its tokenisation roundtable, and a credible venue that settles exotic pairs without a dollar leg would have customers.
