WEX, the Maine-based fleet and corporate payments company, reported WEX Q3 2026 revenue of $780.1 million on 28 October 2026, up 12.8%, including a $57.3 million benefit from fuel prices, and raised its full-year revenue guidance to $2.97 billion to $2.99 billion on an assumed US retail fuel price of $4.81 a gallon for the fourth quarter, according to its results release. Fintechbits checked that assumption against the US Energy Information Administration’s 26 October 2026 survey, which put regular gasoline at $4.269 a gallon and diesel at $6.352, so WEX’s $4.81 figure sits between the two fuels its fleet customers buy.

What drove WEX Q3 2026

Mobility, the fleet card business, drove WEX Q3 2026: revenue rose 20.6% to $435.1 million, while payment processing transactions grew only 1.7% to 142.3 million. That gap is the fuel effect. WEX earns more per transaction when prices at the pump rise, and the EIA data shows diesel $2.634 a gallon higher than a year earlier.

The other two segments grew slowly. Benefits revenue rose 4.8% to $207.6 million, and Corporate Payments, the business-to-business payments arm, rose 3.5% to $137.4 million on purchase volume of $24.6 billion. Total volume across WEX reached $78.5 billion, up 18.5%. Adjusted earnings per share rose 33.6% to $6.13, and WEX repurchased about $200 million of shares in the quarter.

The WEX Q3 2026 numbers flatter the company’s organic position. Corporate Payments is the segment that competes most directly with fintech challengers in accounts payable, a market where Fintechbits has tracked moves by Emburse and a crowd of AR and AP automation tools, and 3.5% growth there is weak. If fuel prices fall back, WEX’s growth rate falls with them.
