Klarna went live at Kohl’s on 29 October 2026, giving shoppers online and in the Kohl’s app the choice to pay in full, pay in four interest-free installments or finance larger purchases, according to Klarna’s announcement. Fintechbits checked Kohl’s help centre on 30 October 2026: its buy now, pay later page names only Klarna, and Afterpay’s Kohl’s store page returned a page-not-found message. The release does not mention Kohl’s 1,100-plus stores.

A big-box win online

Kohl’s runs more than 1,100 stores in 49 states, so a Klarna presence at the register would be the larger prize. Lisa Robinson of Klarna said customers should be able to shop “the way that works best for them”. Rivals are signing big US retailers too, with Affirm at Sam’s Club and Zip at Best Buy.
