Capra Bank and Zact, a bank-first commercial banking technology company, launched Capra SpendLink on 4 November 2026, combining commercial card management, expense management, integrated payables and business travel under the Capra brand, according to the announcement. Capra SpendLink builds on a commercial card programme Zact already runs for Capra, which the companies say has helped Capra expand its commercial payments business, serve more corporate customers and earn new revenue. The release gives no customer numbers, card volumes or pricing. Fintechbits checked FDIC records: Capra Bank is a Dubuque, Iowa bank founded in 1946 with $1.34 billion of total assets at 30 June 2026, small enough that building this kind of software in-house would be a stretch.

Why Capra SpendLink Matters

Spend management has been a fintech category, led by companies such as Ramp, whose $60 billion valuation Fintechbits covered in October. Capra SpendLink is an example of banks fighting back with white-label software: Zact plugs into existing bank systems so a community bank can offer similar tools without replacing its core.

Dr. Lynn “Tut” Fuller, Capra’s chairman, chief executive and founder, said Zact has helped the bank “grow our commercial card business”. The two companies say they are exploring more commercial banking features, so Capra SpendLink is meant as a base for further products rather than a finished suite.

Capra SpendLink is meant to replace the patchwork of tools a business customer often uses for cards, approvals, payments and reconciliation. Fuller said Capra was built on the belief that businesses should get “the personalized service and relationships of a community bank, backed by technology that rivals even the largest financial institutions”. The market around it has changed. Fintechbits’ Ramp coverage noted that Capital One bought Brex earlier in 2026, taking Ramp’s closest venture-backed rival inside a bank. If a large bank wants its own spend platform, community banks need a white-label answer, and that is the gap Zact is selling into. The release does not say how many Capra customers use the card programme or when SpendLink becomes available to all of them.
