Zip, the ASX-listed pay-later provider, said on 29 October 2026 that it had expanded its partnership with Alternative Airlines, a booking site covering more than 600 airlines, so eligible customers can pay over time for car rentals across thousands of US locations, according to the Zip Alternative Airlines announcement. The deal follows Zip’s expansion to Best Buy stores nationwide, which Fintechbits covered on 27 October 2026. Customers pay part at booking and split the rest into installments.

Why travel fits Zip
Peter Volynsky, Zip US chief commercial officer, argued that “travel is rarely just one purchase”, and that is Zip’s case: a customer who already split a flight can now split the car. The release gives no fees, rates or volume figures, so the size of the opportunity is unclear. Zip added a second US bank partner earlier in October, as Fintechbits reported.
